Wolf Spirit Animal
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
– Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Once Upon A Time
there was a woman who lived with the wolves. The story starts when her camp was raided by the Crow tribe. Like many of her friends, she was taken back to their camp.
Not long after her capture, she managed to escape and hid herself in the bushes along the banks of the creek. Of course the Crow men would not let her slip away so easily.
The men set out to bring her back to camp. As she sat curled up in the bushes, two wolves approached her, and then the unexpected happened.
The wolves were actually there to help her escape. Without much of a choice, she let the wolves guide her along a path to the east.
Eventually, the woman became part of the wolf family. She lived with them in a cave tucked inside massive rocks. Everything seemed to be going well on the surface. The woman and the wolves got along. Everyone had their role and responsibilities. She even spoke the wolves’ language!
However, the woman missed her mother deeply. And so, she decided it was time to go back to her family. Upon her return she became known as Inyan Oti Win, or the Woman who lived in the rock.
