Spring Rituals

Behold, my friends, the spring is come; the earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun, and we shall soon see the results of their love.

Bye, bye chilly winds and frosty landscapes! The buzzing bees and chirping birds warmly invite everyone out of their winter slumber. The sun is peeking through the heavy clouds, illuminating cheerful blooms. And stirring just beneath the fertile soil, new life is born. Shake off the bitter numbness of winter. Once Upon A Time

Seated on his chilly, infernal throne, Hades is the ultimate ‘bad boy’ that good girls can’t resist. Good girls like Goddess Demeter’s sweet daughter, Persephone. Some say that Persephone was abducted by Hades, but I think that she simply couldn’t resist Hades’s sexy, hardcore vibes.

In any case, Demeter searched tirelessly across the planet for her missing daughter. Until finally she found Persephone deep in the underworld, sitting comfortably next to Hades. Good girl Persephone and bad boy Hades were a steamy match made in hell.

Still, Mother Demeter wanted her daughter back. And so, she made a deal with the devil. Hades would release Persephone only if Persephone hadn’t eaten anything during her stay in the underworld.

But alas, the sweet girl had eaten six pomegranate seeds, which bound her to the underworld for six months of every year. From autumn to winter, Demeter, the goddess of fertility, mourns her missing daughter, causing the plants to wither and die. And when Persephone surfaces in the spring, Demeter rejoices, bringing vegetation to Earth once again.
