Is It Intuition — Or Magic? Understanding The Secret Language Of Tarot
What if your soul came with a stunning storybook that describes the complex characters and themes in your life? Well, it does! Tarot is a mirror to our souls, reflecting inner wisdom that resides in the depths of the subconscious. When we pull those magical cards, nuggets of wisdom surface to the conscious mind. With all the cards on the table, we can make better decisions in our waking lives.
So, what about divination? Tarot often paints a picture of an eccentric fortune teller with her crystal ball in the back of an eerie metaphysical shop. And while the occult image feels a bit dark and creepy, Tarot can be used to predict the future. However, it’s not as woo woo as it seems.

When you use the cards for divination, Tarot reveals one possible outcome based on your present situation. Are you on the road to corporate burnout or meaningful soul work? Are you heading down the less traveled path that is scary, but exhilarating and fulfilling? Or are you following the herd, trying to keep up with society’s unrealistic expectations?
Tarot illuminates the end of the road you’re already traveling on. But remember, you have complete freewill to hop on another road with a destination more aligned with your soul’s mission. The question is: What road will you take?
Tarot as a Teacher
Tarot reveals more than a possible future. Throughout history, Tarot has also helped spiritual seekers learn important life lessons. For instance, during times of Jewish persecution, the Jews used Tarot cards to study the Torah without detection.
Tarot’s Spiritual Lessons
In Tarot, there are 22 spiritual lessons that are reflected in the 22 Major Arcana cards. These 22 cards correspond to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, as well as the 22 pairs of chromosomes that make up our cells. In all three scenarios, the 22 elements can combine in an infinite number of ways to reveal what is invisible to the eye.
Out of the 22 Major Arcana cards, there are 9 main cards that correspond to 9 key spiritual lessons. Each of these 9 cards also matches the 9 Life Path numbers in numerology that each person embodies since birth. So, our peers, family and friends are like teachers—each with an important spiritual lesson to share.
In order to find a person’s Life Path number, simply take their birthdate and reduce it down to its numerical value.
Here is my own example:
August 16, 1988
Month = 8
Day = 1 + 6 = 7
Year = 1 + 9 + 8 + 8 = 26, and reduce it down further, 2 + 6 = 8
Add 8 + 7 + 8 = 23, and reduce it down further, 2 + 3 = 5
The Life Path for those born on August 16, 1988 is 5
Whether you intuitively choose one of these 9 Tarot cards, or you would like to deep dive into the spiritual archetypes of your entourage, here are the 9 main spiritual lessons:
