How To Harness the Power of Gemini Season to Find Your Authentic Voice

Ciao! Merhaba! Bonjour! In my twenties, I tried on A LOT of voices, as I bounced around countries and communications positions. When in Italy, I spoke like mio ragazzo italiano — passionate hand gestures and curse words included between sips of Spritz cocktails.

When in Istanbul, I caught on to the myriad of Turkish expressions. Haydi ya!

And even after settling down in expat land (aka Geneva, Switzerland), I continued to contort my voice to suit the conservative nature of the corporate world.

Trying on different languages, styles and boyfriends was fun in my twenties. But, during my Saturn Return I was overcome with an intense desire to find my true voice. And for me this was much more than my accent and fashion choices. It was about how I express my creativity in the world.

What kind of dancer am I? Certainly not the technically perfect, cookie-cutter ballerina my coaches wanted me to be. What is my illustration style? Plain vector illustrations with a constricted color palette and zero sparkles didn’t sing to my soul. And what’s my writing style? Dry reports with corporate mumbo jumbo wasn’t my jam either. After trying on loads of cultural costumes, I knew what didn’t fit.

As any artist knows, finding your true, authentic voice is a work in process. Nevertheless, when I show up to my craft each day, that inner voice becomes more clear.

Find Your Authentic Voice

As we embark on Gemini season, the twins call on us to find our authentic voice, and in that voice, our authority. Who are you at soul level? And are you expressing your unique voice or holding back?

With a whoosh of air, Gemini season has the potential to blow away any fear of speaking up. Whatever your artistic medium, Gemini calls on you to color your canvas with your truth. When you do, your unique magic ripples out into the wider world, encouraging others to share their voice too.

To ride the Gemini wave, this sacred shower ritual opens the throat chakra, residing at the center of your throat. When your throat chakra is activated, your deep soul truth spills from your lips without any fear of judgement. You have one authentic face to everyone, and no secrets hidden in the closet.

What You Need

  • Eucalyptus
  • Lavender
  • Peppermint
  • Basil
  • Bay leaves
  • Scissors
  • Roll of hemp cord
  • Blue lace agate, Blue apatite or howlite
  • Journal
  • Pen

Make the Shower Swag

I don’t know about you, but I always have my best creative ideas in the shower. With the fresh water washing away all the gunk, my inner voice is loud and clear.

To begin, grab the eucalyptus and create a base for the other herbs. Lay it down with the stems all facing in the same direction. Next, add the bay leaves on top, followed by the lavender, peppermint and basil. Tie up the swag with your hemp cord at the base (stem) end.

Lastly, create Xs or a crisscross pattern to wrap the crystal on top of the swag near the base. Hang this on your shower head.

Take a Sacred Shower

When you take your next shower, let the steam activate the oils within the plants. As the oils open your throat chakra, set the intention to hear the whispers of your soul.

You can use this swag for several days.

Reflective Writing

Upon getting out of the shower, grab your favorite journal and pen.

Bring your attention to the present moment and take a deep breath. Next, swallow deeply, as you zero in on your throat.

Now, ask your Higher Self the following questions:

  • What do I truly believe in?
  • What can I lose myself in because I love doing it so much?
  • How am I being called to share my truth?
  • Do I feel safe to share my authentic voice in every area of my life?
  • How can I cultivate more alignment in my life?

For the duration of Gemini season, repeat the following affirmation each day: I express my truth.

You can write it in your journal or speak it out loud.

May this ritual help liberate your authentic voice so you may speak your truth in all areas of your life.
