In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.

Once Upon A Time
there was a trickster god named Loki. Loki’s pranks were notoriously far from innocent. He has ignited deep seated revenge in more than a few souls, one being the stormy giantess, Skadi.
As the story goes, Loki tricked Skadi’s father, Thiazzi, into stealing the apples of immortality from the Aesir. Loki then told the Aesir of his crime, and helped them kill Thiazzi. Talk about back stabbing!
When Skadi heard the news, she marched right up to Asgard in full armor to demand retribution. The gods offered her marriage into the tribe to make up for her loss. The catch was that she had to choose her husband by his feet alone. Naturally, Skadi picked the god with pedicure status toes.
When her future husband was revealed, it was the god of the sea, Njord, whose feet were washed clean by walking along the crystalline shore.
