Goddess Brigid

I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try… with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.

– J.B. Priestley, Delight

Once Upon A Time

there was a powerful solar goddess of the eternal flame named Brigid. Her inner fire burned so bright that even the gloomiest, coldest of places were illuminated with her rays.

The daughter of the Earth god and the goddess of fertility, she came into this world at sunrise with flames shooting out from her head to the cosmos.

The underworld was practically Brigid’s second home. Not only was she the proud owner of an apple orchard and bees in the spirit realm, baby Brigid was even nourished by a sacred cow from the spirit world.

Sure her ability to cross the veil spooked some of the Irish country folk. However, nobody could deny her divine light. Wherever Brigid walked, vibrant flowers and shamrocks would appear, bringing hope and inspiration.

Brigid Wisdom

The goddess of weather, poetry and crafts really knows how to light the fire under your bum to spark creativity! She teaches us how to embrace our inner child and cultivate a playful curiosity. Swirl your hands around in the sandbox, make little people out of sticks, finger paint, whatever works! Brigid encourages you to let loose and release all inner expectations that prevent you from a creative breakthrough.

The fiery goddess also reminds us that the best is yet to come. Even in the coldest of seasons, life is stirring below. Keep your chin up. Sunnier days are on the horizon!
