There are countless energy channels in the body that carry prana, or life-force that enables the functioning of the body and mind. These energy channels converge at various points along the spine, forming chakras.

A chakra is a swirling wheel of energy that receives and sends information to and from you. But, how do they do it?

It’s a true partnership of physical and psychic anatomies! When a message comes along, it is picked up by the auric field that matches its energetic frequency. The auric field then passes the message to the corresponding chakra.

But the chakra needs a little help decoding the message, and so, it forwards the message to the brain. After the brain adds its two cents, the message slides back down the spine into the corresponding chakra and out into the auric field.

However, the message isn’t picked up by just any chakra. Each of the nine main chakras has its area of expertise. And when activated, we unleash that chakra’s potential.

The 9 Chakras

Earth Star Chakra

The earth star chakra, or Vasundhara, sits about 30 cm below your feet. The spinning wheel of red molten light connects you to Mother Earth, the crystalline kingdoms, and the bones of our ancestors.

This is your entry point to powerful healing for yourself, the Earth and humanity. When your earth star chakra is activated, you’re rooted in the wisdom and sacred energy of Mother Gaia. Life is a breeze, as you can safely integrate the energy of the higher dimensions.

Root Chakra

The root chakra, or Muladhara, resides at the base of your tailbone. Your divine center provides the stability and safety to move confidently in the world.

The root chakra is comprised of your basic physical and emotional needs from food, water, shelter, and safety. When these needs are met, the worries of the day melt away and you feel grounded. Tethered to earth, you can also manifest your dreams for the long haul.

Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra, or Svadisthana, sits in the center of your lower abdomen. The radiant wheel of warm orange light rules our creativity and sexuality.

When it is open, we can fully step into our full, sexy self. Like a fiery volcano, we ooze with passion, desire, creative courage and oh so many ideas! Our inner child is out to play and nothing is off limits on the creativity playground.

Solar Plexus Chakra

The solar plexus chakra, or Manipura, sits two finger-widths above the belly button. The energetic Power House radiates the shimmering golden light of the Sun.

When it is activated, we have a strong sense of purpose and believe anything is possible. We have the power and confidence to take an idea and magically materialize it into the world.

Heart Chakra

The heart chakra, or Anahata, sits at heart center, the divine connection point of the earthly and cosmic realms. As implied by the Sanskrit name, which means “unstruck” or “unhurt”, beneath the wounds of the past lies a pure temple where no pain exists.

When your heart chakra is open, you hold infinite love and compassion with the magical ability to forgive and accept yourself and others.

Throat Chakra

The throat chakra, or Vishuddha, is the first of the three spiritual chakras, residing at the center of your throat. From an expanded awareness beyond the three-dimensional reality, this is where your divine truth emerges.

When your throat chakra is open, your deep soul truth spills from your lips without any fear of judgement. You have one authentic face to all, and no secrets hidden in the closet.

Third Eye Chakra

The third eye chakra, or Ajna, resides between the eyebrows, encompassing the pituitary gland, eyes, head, and lower part of the brain. This magical chakra expands our awareness beyond the five senses.

When your third eye chakra is open, psychic skills, imagination and intuitive knowing are enhanced. Your instincts are spot on, helping you ride the wave of life with ease.

Crown Chakra

The crown chakra, or Sahasrara, sits at the top of your head. The vibrant violet disk of light opens your channel to the divine energy that creates everything in the universe. Just like the lotus flower, we grow up out of the dark, gooey mud and bloom into the light.

When your crown chakra is open, you feel part of a broader matrix of energy. You don’t see yourself as separate or different, but instead see how we are all interconnected.

Soul Star Chakra

The soul star chakra, or Sutara, is our connection to the cosmos. Sitting about 30 cm above the top of the head, the luminous halo of heavenly light opens the horizons to a universe of limitless possibilities.

When your soul star chakra is open, you’re enveloped in a peaceful cloud of love. Your world view is expanded beyond linear time, and anything is possible with your manifestation powers. You are a “holy star” in your community, holding sacred space for those in need.
